Data Sources

MapStand aggregates data from 1000s of sources. Specific data source information is included in each entity. MapStand process, digitized or transform all data to conform to our internal standards and this is provided to subscribers as Licenced Content.

Licensed Content includes information collected by MapStand from news and public sources and other third parties, data compiled by MapStand through its own activities, aggregated and analysed data collected and from MapStand customers, as well as analysis, research, estimates, models, illustrations, summaries, approximations and statistical information created and compiled by MapStand based on a variety of information sources.

As part of MapStand data products MapStand aims to source official datasets from government agencies or similar with updates occurring as often as is appropriate for a given source.

Many countries do not currently have a data release policy, or the datasets maintained by MapStand are considered confidential. In these cases, MapStand custom build layers from available information in the public domain.
